How recruitment agencies out before their temporary workers and contractors?
If I'm getting $ 25 or $ 30 per hour that's not what the company pays the placement / talent agency I went through to get the job. What is your type of top? Is it a percentage? (I'm a graphic designer and production artist.) Thanks!
Totally depends on the contract between the agency and the employer. Do you receive paycheck of the agency? If so, they usually receive a "mark-up than on hourly wages. Out of this surcharge to pay all employer taxes (7.65% of the SS, State Unemployment, Federal Unemployment Insurance, Workers Compensation, etc.) What is left is your gross profit. When times were good, and the unemployment rate was very low, temporary services rose to 80-100% surcharge. After 9 / 11 and the crisis in the company, many services to reduce their rates 20-30% to just pay your taxes. So if you earn $ 25 an hour, the service temperature will probably get about $ 32.50 per hour. If you are paid directly to the company you're working for, then the agency will probably be a "finders fee", which is generally based on your annual salary, or it could be a fixed amount. This really depends on the contract. And if placed permanently, the agency has negotiated a placement fee before they even offered work. When I was a talent that I have received about 30% of annual salary as my fee.
